inside out

Looking through windows, looking at windows and looking into windows.

stepping into puddles

With all the rain we have been having recently, it’s quite difficult to avoid the puddles! As well as jumping into them, it is also good to have a deep look sometimes.  The comments from passersby when they see someone bending over a puddle are quite funny too …

twelfth night and the twelve knits of christmas

All the characters from ‘The Twelve Days of Christmas‘ were beautifully knitted and amusingly displayed by Trish in the window of Creations Wool Shop, Barnes, London SW13, using patterns found in ‘The Twelve Knits of Christmas’ by Fiona Goble.

winter solstice

A typical rainy street scene all over London this afternoon on the shortest day of the year.  Winter begins today and, yes, it’s already getting dark!

london eye

A few drops of rain don’t spoil the view from the London Eye on a mid-December evening. Down below, the city is brightly illuminated, boats and bridges are festooned with colourful lights, there are frost fairs and Christmas markets … The festivities have begun!

very cold, very windy, high tides and grey skies …

A brisk walk on a cold afternoon:  looking across the Thames towards the Shard and, just round the corner, an ice-rink in the moat at the Tower of London.

nour tour bus

One of the pleasures of the autumn months is the Nour Festival of Arts, now in its fourth year.  The best of contemporary Middle Eastern and North African arts and culture is divulged throughout the Royal Borough of Kensington & Chelsea.  As well as exhibitions, films, talks, workshops, performances, literature, music and poetry, there is also a Souk and a Tour Bus.

sebastião salgado in london

The familiar walls and arches of Paddington Station merge with Sebastião Salgado’s photograph of the Nenets of Northern Siberia, in a poster advertising the Brazilian photographer’s epic exhibition, Genesis, shown at the Natural History Museum earlier this year.

A grande exposição, Genesis, estava no Natural History Museum.
